Christmas Ornaments

This year we decided to try out a new recipe and make ornaments for the kids and grandparents. It was really simple with applesauce and cinnamon. They smell delicious and look great on the tree. I forgot to get a finished picture but will try to and repost it.

Schmidt Sayings

As everyone knows, the Schmidts are known for their sarcasm and humor. This has also been passed down to our boys. They can say the funniest things. I have been writing in a journal all the things they are saying but will try to post some on the blog so maybe I'll remember them later. Here are just a few from today.

Korbin- " Mommy, Karson need a bustin'" (Karson and Korbin got in a scuffle playing and dad got onto Karson and put him in time-out. Karson threw major fit so Korbin came to report to me)

Karson- at the doctor's office waiting room while mom is trying to wrestle three boys and check in all by herself- "Sit down or I'm going to spank you bare hiney" The crowd all heard it and made the ladies day!!

Karson- "Sorry, Kelton, I forgot you while I wasn't paying attention with my daddy" (At lunch Karson likes to babysit Kelton in his seat. Brent was pestering the boys and giving Karson a hard time. He ended up out of his chair and then returned to tell Kelton)

Karson- "Daddy, would you go to the farm" (translation- daddy get out of here and leave us a long so we can eat in peace)

Korbin "Mommy, I need you." (this one isn't funny but just really cute coming out of his little mouth. He talked so much earlier than Karson and so we have gotten to enjoy the baby talk sounds. It is too precious!!)

West Texas Snow

Snow for us in West Texas usually comes off plants in fields of brown. This year Karson was really into riding the stripper this year. Korbin wasn't too sure about the BIG stripper but was happy to ride the tractor with daddy. Kelton actually got to ride the stripper one day. Dad roped mom into driving the stripper since everyone else went to Martin Co to combine the maize. Driving the stripper was an experience but mom loved driving such a large piece of equipment. She is ready for an army tank next!! The crops were fair this year but we had fun harvesting and are already looking forward to next year.
Boys found a huge pile of cotton dumped on the ground. It was like jumping on a cloud!!
All ready to go

Playing in the dirt beside on of the many modules they helped make.

Grandpa will shoot us for pulling the cotton out of the modules!! Run boys!

Our famous farm dog, Rusty. He is a great dog that got dumped out at the farm. Brent adopted him and we are so glad he did. He is the best natured dog allowing the boys to pick at him, ride him, throw dirt at him, do basically anything to him without getting mad.

Polar Express in West Texas

This year the Polar Express came to West Texas. In Lubbock, they had a train that took passengers about 30 minutes out and back. It was a replica of the movie complete with a ticket punching conductor, hot chocolate, cookies, and Santa giving out bells. For Christmas, MeMe and PaPaw bought everyone tickets and the boys pajamas. We ended up going the same night as the Lubbock cousins but were on different trains. It was a little rocky of a ride but we had a great time. The boys enjoyed their first train ride!!!

Reading the Polar Express the night before.

Karson and MeMe read Polar Express

Everyone ready to board- Lyneil is there too- she the photographer!!!

PaPaw and Kelton waiting to go. Kelton was awake most of the trip and liked looking around and listening to all the noise.

Korbin stuck close to daddy. He didn't feel too good- Cold, Croop, Allergies???

Santa's little helpers ready to ride the train- MeMe and Karson

Mommy's last little elf is the happiest baby ever!!

All smiles from Lyneil at the start of the trip-read below to find out more!

Beck family is enjoying the ride for a little while.

Keep smiling Andy, it soon gets better

Santa's Littlest Helper

Mr. Conductor

Karson got his ticket punched in the shape of a "K" He was very special to get this. All our tickets just had one punch!!

COOKIES, COOKIES, COOKIES

Elfs brought entertainment with dancing and singing on the way home.

Karson visits with Santa and gets a bell

Braxton and Brazos visit with Santa. Brazos still wondering about him.

Korbin wakes up long enough to collect his bell

The trip turned nasty for the Beck family. The ride was extremely rocky. Everyone did okay until hot choco and cookies. On the way back after Santa(only few minutes from home) Braxton told Andy his throat hurt. Andy asked where and Braxton upchucked all in his hands to show him where. They were scrambling for old choco cups, napkins, anything to clean it up. Andy did good to catch most of the mess. Not a fun experience for anyone. Lyneil did good holding her own and not puking with him!!
